At least Eddie did "something productive" with it. As for myself, I enjoy the car, take care of it, and drive it!
The way you sold it to him it was far from being a driver. After careful inspection and lots of back breaking work it seems like it was more of a driveway decoration when you owned it. It had more accessories and modifications than common sense. Personally I've never heard of anyone slamming a bug (in such a rookie fashion) and pimping it out before it was a driver? Seems a bit strange?
Thanks to Eddie for backing me up, selling me such a cool project, and being a good buddy.
Kahlil
PS Rule #1 don't criticize other peoples cars that they are fixing up when you personally had a hand in screwing it up!

^^^^^how to make yourself look like an idiot on the internet 101.
when you sell a car, the new owner is free to do whatever they please with it. even if they say they'll never sell it and that it'll stay looking the same way as when it was sold.....things change and sometimes possesions need to be passed on.
personally, i think the car looks way better now. i saw pics of the car in it's previous configuration on here and on lowlifevw.com and it looked half assed and poorly thoughtout. |

I understand that its his car now and I gave up all rites whene I sold it, I didnt mean to sound like a dick BUT I do have a bitter taste in my mouth after I called Kahlil and asked him to sell me the Beam and spindles back and he said NO
Is that part of the "VW comunity"?
I even stated in the ad that I would put it all back to stock and sell it for less. Thats why Im so bitter
And yes I sold a "Project car" it was sold that way, I never said it was a driver and even gave eddie $200 off because it wasnt finished. I had to sell it before I finished it because work was slow. I sold it for $1800 for that price and the accesories it was well worth the work to make it a driver.
Dont act like I pulled one over on him. I am an honest seller and would not say shit is what its not
I think Eddie is a cool guy and I wasnt bashing him. I just wish he kept it because he actualy apreciated the way it looked
Sorry to have a differance in opinion |

| Hey Chase....No need to say soory about having an opinion...I personally like slammed cars, and would never drive a stock aircooled anything, but you know how i roll. 1,800.00 for that was a deal. When will you have your bus done? |

And how exactly was it lowered in a "Rookie fashon" ? After talking to you on the phone I realize you probably havent heard of too much. Everything you had to do to the car was easy I just didnt have the time or money to finish it. Thats why it was so cheap. Dont try to bash me and twist the truth whene you dont even know what you are talking about.
I "pimped it out" first because I found the accesories for a good price

Hey K!
Looking good! I'm wishing I could take BOTH my ACVW's to Mogollon this year - even Jerome! As it is - I'm looking at some work to the bus here as the beetle has been taking up ALL of my time.
And it's SOOO worth the time too.... |

1. Didn't grease the spindles
2. No grease fittings
3. Bearings were installed wrong
4. Bolts in loose
5. Break lines old and crusty, etc, etc.
You said "Didn't have the time or money to finish it."
Interesting, seems like you didn't have the "cents" to do it the right way either?
Pathetic.
You also said " Dont try to bash me and twist the truth whene you dont even know what you are talking about." I have two things to say about this sentence, first I'm a quick learner...quicker than you, and second try using spell check.
This is fun :)

Ryan,
So which one are you bringing to Jerome?
Maybe you could get a friend to drive the bug and you could drive the bus?
I'm thinking about going to Silver City around October to visit my dad, maybe I'll take the long way and cruise by and say "hi!"
Can't wait to see the bug.

How much of this did you do yourself? Whene I taked to you on the phone you didnt even know how to swap out a beam, and thats why you had to have someone do it for you. You are a quick learner? Your 40 and Im 28 I have already done more than you will ever do. For someone who is a VW club leader you dont know shit about VWs. The bearings were greased. The spindles were set perfect with all the correct shims the FRONT brake rubber was new
Like I said I never fucked with the rear bearings or brakes I didnt even get to the point of trying to get the brakes working. Thats what happens whene you run out of money because work is slow. Im an Ironworker and shit slows down so I had to sell the car. And quit trying to act like I sold this car as a running vehicle Eddie knew what he was buying and if he didnt relay all that to you thats not my problem
All I was saying to begine with is the car looks dumb now. And Im sure a bunch of people here like it and thats fine.
Yeah I dont spell that great BIG FUCKING DEAL |

why do people always bring up spelling, and punctuation when talkin $h!t?
did he get his point across? yes. i'm willing to bet he threw the car together so it rolls at least, or what ever to sell it.
and why are you bashing him? he's a good vw guy and if you were broke down or needed help he'd be right there. so why bash him? he is totally entitled to the way he feels, and you also. |

Hey K -
You have a point - problem is - dunno if I'd trust my friends driving Aunt B. Besides - I don't wanna be greedy on the whole space issue there. Then again - my repro roof rack WOULD hold a good amount of camp gear. I MAY be able to convince a couple friends to drive it - and attend.
You gonna bring Betty?
Betty and Beulah (Aunt B) could get to know each other.
Sheesh! With names like those - it sounds like they'll be sitting on the front porch talking about Thelma and Agness... |

| Dude, either way.. this old '62 looks great. .Better than letting all the highways take a toll on the pan because it's 'so cool' to scrape the ground.. Good work turning that car into the drive you have it as. It looks good, and looks proper.. I'm not for the bone stock look particularly, but definitly not a party to any one style. Keep doing what you are doing.. And, for those who have to sell because 'money is short', then quit overspending...take a budget or finances class to learn how to spend/save. It's called being an adult. Also, being an adult means you dont' bitch and scream and pound on the ground with your hands and feet on an internet forum. Your loss if you are crying about it now. |

Good point, thank you.
The main point is I'm enjoying it, driving it, sharing the experience with others, asking questions and helping others when they need my help.

You assume allot Grasshopper... also, you have a selective memory.
I want to make sure we are talking about a car here that you never drove? What is this intense passion you hold for this bug? I don't know, it just seems weird that you would even give a damn about a car you sold.
It's not like you sold it with a deed restriction (you may have to look this up, it's a real estate term). Nor did I buy a car with CC&Rs (another real estate term).
The point here is this, when you sell a car let it go. It really is time to move on. There will be lots of other VWs in you future. I'm sure you do know allot about VWs, but you really do need to get away from the computer and away from the VWs once in a while. Trust me you are waaay to invested in this car and this scene to be getting all of your frustrations out in this forum. There is more to life.
The car is now mine, it isn't yours ....but if you're nice maybe I'll sell it back to you in the distant future.....that is, after I ask Eddie if he wants it first?
Lighten up!

Actually, it would be Betty, Darla (Wes's bug), and Aunt B. Sounds like Mayberry. Someone needs to name a bug Opie!
Have you seen Wes's 66? Great patina!

kahill, even though the car is yours and he shouldnt bitch about anything you decide to do to it, you sound kind of like an arrogant asshole.
And chase, the car is gone. it's over. Just let the shit go. |
