As a person with marginal mechanical aptitude, I have undertaken the task of switching engines in my sweet lady's 72 Westfalia Campmobile/Bus. So far , I have removed the engine from it's compartment and all the exo parts that I will be fastenning to the new engine that will be used in the bus. All parts except the piece that the fan bolts to. What I'm trying to say is that I would be grateful for any advice as far as how to remove this particular part, as well as how to get this baby back together and running in the bus. Greatly appreciate any instruction, Thank You!

| There is a good book that describes the fan assembly step by step and has plenty of pictures that may help. It's How to rebuild your volkswagen air-cooled engine,a HP book by Tom Wilson.Good luck. |
