I'm putting my freshly straightened and painted bumpers back on and I'm really tempted to chuck the splash pans. Other than 1. trapping snow and ice and making my corners rust, and 2. transferring the energy of any hit to the bumper right into the corners and wrecking them, what useful purpose to these things serve? I realize they help support the corners of the bumper, but they don't really seem to need much support, and I think my bus would be happy without them. What am I missing?

I could be wrong about this but I always assumed they were to help keep the rear window cleaner when its raining. This is just a guess. If you are going to toss them sell them to me. One of mine is missing a tab.
