This is actually about the flasher in my bus. I could
ask the bus forum, but I always seem to find better
help from my buggy family. You guys are the best!!
Can I use a generic three prong flasher in a stock
VW fuse block? I compared the old one out of my
bus to the generic one for my buggy, and the prongs
are the same. So, I know that it will plug in, but I'm
afraid to do it without asking. I don't want to melt
any wires in my bus. It's a pita but I love it. |

Just try it......Most flashers that will fit "particular" socket are compatible...

Should work except if it is an early model. If the original flasher was metal it will not work. The metal type used the metal case for grounding. |

It's a '71. The flasher that was in it is a black
plastic cube. The generic one is a metal cylinder. |

A replacement at a local shop is about $10. if you are worried. $3.00 for a generic, but an extra $7 will buy you piece of mind. |
