So I know I'm new here but i wanted to vent to someone.
I've been restoring a 77Westy for a year and a half now and all i need to do is put one more window in & put the heat exchangers back on. Not all that hard, nor would that take me more than a day or so. Once I do that I can finally put it on the road.
However the other day I started having really back chest pains. I couldn't do anything! I went to the doctor and I found out i have a dislocated rib! I didn't even know there was such a thing! I'm so pissed because I have to "take it easy" for like a month or 2. Meaning no working on the VW. I was so excited to get it on the road... GRR :x ... can anyone sympathize? |

| I can sympathize with your pain. I ended up with one bulging and one herniated disc in my back due to working on my later-model Bug. I ignored the numbness and pain for about 18 months or so before doing anything about it. If you're going to get better with a couple of months of rehab, do it. I've been in traction for a couple of years, and it still sucks. |

He diagnosed himself.
It is up to the family to sympathize. You get none from me. But maybe someone else will give you some. |

To clear it up, I'm only a Doctor like how Dr. Pepper's a doctor, or how Dr. Phil's a doctor. |

So you have a PhD?
Quote: Dr. Phil has a B.A. from Midwestern State University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from North Texas State University with a dual area of emphasis in clinical and behavioral medicine. |

| I seperated a rib on Thankgiving day in our annual "Turkey Bowl." Long story short, it still hurts at times. Ribs do not heal fast, and can be very painful when injured! |

The not-so-quite-obvious part is that you need to be more careful when you sleep. Unconscious breathing is even more taxing and deep than the way we breathe when awake. |

The same way you herniate a disc or get a bulging disc. I couldn't feel my left arm for about 4 months. It happens. |

| Herniated discs suck. My wife suffered a collapsed L5/S1 from a gymnastics injury. She suffered for years until 2006 when she got a brand new artificial disc implant. Pain free since. |

| Yes. Herniated discs suck. A reputable back surgeon (with a little-big-man-complex) analysis is "Stand up straight". Do you kick him in the nuts and get a new doctor? |

A former gymnast. 5'2" tall, 100 lbs dripping wet. And yes, she's still very flexible. |

she was lucky! those surgeries are hit or miss. I'm facing one...as soon as I'm willing to get it done. when I was 18, the surgeon told me to wait until I'm 28 for the surgery...I'm 29. |
