The toll road is going to be my obstacle since my car's not running all that well. I'm taking off work a bit early today and heading up there.

Home safe! I took the 'scenic route' home.

Highlights of my trip:

Seeing everyone!
The perpetual roundabout during the caravan to Octo,
Seeing everyone!
Dutch Oven cookoff,
Seeing everone!
Hanging out,

and Seeing Everyone!!

Thanks VTO for putting on a great campout. This was my first Blackstar, and I was not disappointed! I will be back!

Done!

HamburgerBrad Mon Jun 09, 2008 12:54 pm

that roundabout was pretty funny. driving up to it, i just see busses going in all directions and I had no idea what was ahead in the road. wtff?

Das Dragon Mon Jun 09, 2008 1:15 pm

The roundabout looked like a vintage VW promotional video showing all the different model Buses that could be bought.

Awesome job again VTO what a great campout, we'll be back next year for sure.

I got about 7 or 8 pictures at the roundabout, it was the best bus thing of the weekend for me, the best food was Bridget's dutch oven chocolate chip ice cream and the best look was Monas face when she saw it, priceless. Will get picts. posted later.

Yea the traffic circle was the lemon next to the pie. That black hot rod driver had to be impressed by so many beeping bus's

HamburgerBrad Mon Jun 09, 2008 8:09 pm

I missed most of the good dutch oven food since I had to go home and work on my car. bummer.

Adriel Rowley Mon Jun 09, 2008 8:31 pm

Hello, this is Adriel. Thank you all for the good time and hospitality. I am sorry I did not get to see you all in the morning of Sunday, or the Classic (ran out of gas  ), especially the folks around the camp fire. I was the one that pushed my Squareback in as not to wake the sleepers.

Das Dragon Mon Jun 09, 2008 9:03 pm

Hey Adriel, thanks for not waking people up although most of us were around the campfire anyways. I was the guy who greeted you and invited you to the campfire.

DiscoBev Mon Jun 09, 2008 9:31 pm

I just wanted to thank all the parents who let their kids participate in the games we had & say they all did an awesome job!!!!!!!
And thanks to all that contributed to the 50/50 raffle for the kids prizes for next year. We appreciate your contributions and will find alternative ways for the future to keep the kid events going.
Oh & thanks to the guys that donated the toys and piggy banks. I had so much to pass out that you didn't get to see the kids enjoy those too. But if you could see the faces on the kids when I handed them the piggy bank & all the other little ones that had so much fun playing with the VW Bug toys back stage while the raffle was going, you'd know how thankful the little ones were & how much they truly loved them.

Fast forwarding to another subject:

I finally got my brother & his family to see what a great time it is to camp with the VW crowd. He and his wife and three kids got to experience their 1st time camping ever as a family & what better way to start it out with than great food, great entertainment, and great company hosted by the great people of VVVVVTTTTTTOOOO and all the other VW people all over the United States. They were so wowed at the turn out and how fun and family oriented it was at the same time that they want to come back for more.
