View original topic: Emails to buyers getting rejected

I am noticing lately that a number of buyers who see my stuff on Samba and want to buy it and then email me about a quote or ask for payment info, never get my responses.
They either bounce, fail or are undeliverable by the postmaster.

looks like this:
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed.

It's pretty damn frustrating especially when they keep emailing like I am not responding. They actually think I don't want to respond to them.

Does this have anything to do with the emails being generated to me by Samba like a third party or something? I had this one exchange with an AOL user who finally got one of my responses after I sent over 7 emails to him.
He swore he only got the one email.......

Its like kissing your sister, when you can't connect with a guy who wants to give you money and complete a sale.

Is this happening to anyone else in Samba land?

You emailing them from a Samba inquiry is the same as you sending them a normal email so it has nothing to do with the site.

The only possible difference is that something in the Samba email is getting caught by their scam filter and they therefore do not ever see the message. You would not get a reject message in that case.

I get a couple hundred rejects back to the Supersamba account every day from bad email addresses/AOL and other rejects/etc. I think people use bad email accounts to email sellers quite frequently, although that does not sounds like your particular issue.

Ok thanks Everett.

I know there can be email problems like this, but I seem to see it more with Samba generated emails than ebay or other website gen. emails and so I wondered if there was a problem going on.

I guess some of them have their spam filters set too high.
There is a joke there.haha

As a test, you could strip out some of the Samba email content.

I never have this problem myself and no one else has reported anything.

Sometimes when I hit reply to an email generated from the Samba, the reply to is "Super Samba", and not the guy's email address. Then a short time later I get a message from Super Samba telling me I didn't use the right address.
I have to remember to check the "reply to" field and if Super Samba, I have to find the guy's email in the message body and cut-n-paste it.
Maybe this is what's happening to you?

As a test, send me an email. Anyone.

This is a configuration issue with your email program. I'm not sure what to change but there are a few people that have this same problem. One person has told me only his portable device (blackberry?) does this, not his normal computer.

My email provider's service is very shitty, so I could believe that. The strange thing is that it doesn't happen every time.
