I watched it last night and tonight fly over my house. If you have kids they might like to see it. It was so clear you could even see the panels.

I wanted to! It's been to cloudy here, we had hail and lots of rain off and on. ...Weird for February, but thats Texas weather.

Pretty cool. I will have to try to remember to watch for it tomorrow (only other day it's visible here).

On another note, a total lunar eclipse will be taking place on Wednesday. It's the last one until December 2010.

Thanks for the info, I'll post a sticky on the monitor as a reminder to watch for it tonight.

I saw the very first "Sputnik" satellite in 1957 from our apartment rooftop in NYC. It was a bit of a let down knowing it was a Russian satellite and that they were the first in space and not us.

Thanks

Don't be late! I walked out my front door at one min. before the time they listed and both times I watched it as it just came into view. The second night was the clearest since it went directly above where I was watching.

I'll be watching for the eclipse.

I used to have a huge property (almost 17 acres) out in the counry and I would see all kinds of odd stuff from time to time because the sky was so clear. It's cool to see fireballs shooting across the sky where junk is re-entering the atmosphere. I doubt I will be able to see it here but I will give it a try if the weather clears up. It has been really cloudy lately.

Das Dragon Sun Feb 17, 2008 8:11 pm

Space station passed by right on time.

piemat Sun Feb 17, 2008 8:21 pm

Heard today that Bush gave them the OK to shoot it down with a missile, I don't know when though. It would be pretty cool to see it then.

LOL, You guys sound like you think it's a miracle that NASA actually knows when the thing is going to pass by.

Das Dragon Sun Feb 17, 2008 9:19 pm

It was a little disappointing tonight. Too far away to even tell what it was.

my65vert Sun Feb 17, 2008 9:52 pm

according to the website, yesterday was its highest elevation in the sky. the lower it is, the further away it is. even then, at 180 miles out, how much do you expect to see? I was happy with more than one point of light in the sky

hifibug57 Mon Feb 18, 2008 2:00 am

awesum, we can even track it in our part of the world!

So I clicked on that link last night and it said the last time to see it would be last night at 6:31. It was 6:28 when I checked. I went outside and looked in the SW sky and bam 6:31 on the button. Very cool. 8) THANKS!
