are those speakers going under your dash? How is the acoustics and sound? How did you get that in there? Looks like a cool idea.

I've been wanting to do something like that. My goal is to have an entirely hidden sound system. Gauges in the deck space and the deck in the glove box.

I have a speaker behind the passenger seat. I'm confident it's not stock and was added by some PO years ago, but I'd like confirmation.

Can you post more pics of your new speaker setup?

neat idea. I was thinking of putting the tweeter/seperates in that location with the 5.25s in the stock location.

Hey Brian, lose yer shelf? Gotta watch those DAC boys...I've got a couple if it turns out you need one...
See you in East Texas pretty quick!
Kirk, get a bus!

Surprisingly they fit in the stock location easily with room to spare...Adds awsome trebble to the sound. I put high dollar 6 1/2" MB Quart's in the doors and powered them with 150 watts each....I've never heard that much bass come from 6 1/2"s! Maybe I'll add some 6x9's in the unused portion of the back shelf some day....but thats it.

Someone look at the wood grain in my last picture with the Pledge, do you see 2 faces on the left?? WEIRD!

you should try to sell that panel on ebay...alongside the grilled cheese. Or you can charge admission and people will come from all over the world to see it..just a thought

boos-k_nb,

Will you please release Mr. Morrison from your side panel. The Doors would like to get back together for a reunion tour.

VWBusrepairman Thu Aug 21, 2008 10:25 am

Those speakers are good for treble, but what will supply the bass?

They will also fit in place of the air vents on the dash. I didn't need air vents with the big, hunky sunroof and all. :P

Hippopotabus Thu Aug 21, 2008 10:30 am

Are these speakers going on top of the dashboard. On the 72 it seems that there is holes and space for a 6x9 speaker. Just curious...
