The bellows type thermostat is shot on my engine (fully expanded) I was told a much less expensive Type I thermostat will work on a Type 4...
Is this true?

Hey astro
Yes the type1 thermostat will work on the type4 . Go here and look under the type1 choice and they give directions on how to modify it for the typ4. http://www.aircooled.net./new-bin/viewproductdetail.php?keyword2=ESM0002&cartid=

| Forgot to tell you. MAKE SURE you get the 80-85 degree model for the type4 engine. |
