i just got a 79 transporter and i am tryign to get it runnign properly.
it starts but idles kinda ruff. it blows alot of black smoke when you give it gas. and you can only rev in up to a certain point then it strts to cut out.
oh and its fuel injected 2 l
does anyopne know of anysites that can hel me determin the problum. or any ideas on what it miet be? |

You need the 68-79 Bentley and a volt-ohm meter.
Sounds like either the #3 cylinder temp sensor is open, or the cold start valve is dumping raw gas, or the fuel pressure regulator is stuck closed, or you have a clamp on the return hose.....
