On my 72 I have a vacuum Advance Cuttoff valve. At this time It has been by-passed by the previous owner. I think the valve keeps the vacuum advance from working until I hit 4th gear. Is this something I should hook back up or what? I would think If I had no advance until 4th gear the bus would be sluggish. Stumped!

it stops the vacuum when you hit fourth gear. not untill you hit fourth. mine is not hooked up either. i dont know any problems that will arise.
