I just dropped my 78 Riviera off at Allpro paint here in San Diego. We'll see what comes out of it. I was quoted at $700.00 tax included for silver/white. Their work looked a bit better than Maaco, so I went with them. Should be done mid next week. Anyone have experience with this shop?

Ok, so I saw the bus today. Excellent job for the money. I pulled all the trim off before taking it there. No masking around the headlights, etc...
It was still drying today, I'll get it tomorrow.

Question...I didn't have him spray the camper top. Now it looks really dingy compared to the white around the windows. Is there a way to buff this out myself? I need it to be white again, not yellow.

Check type2.com in the library section. There are two articles about pop-top restoration. I was leaning towards using the marine paint.

did this paint job include body work, or was it strictly paint?

I had a little bit of body work done. They did an ok job on it. Now that it's painted, I wish that I would've had more body work done. But, it's old, and I'm broke. That combination equals dents every time.
The paint looks good. I would say great if not for the occasional spot where I can see they didn't prep very well. I'd say better than Maaco. Check them out, Allpro paint and body near sports arena in San Diego. I'll post picks in the gallery under campers tomorrow. There a before shot already there, when she was some mustard/tan color.
