Thanks Mike, I had my engine tin powder coated. How did the bench seat work out? BTW get that fuel filter out of you engine compartment and mount it somewhere else. Less chance of a fuel leak on a hot engine.

I decided that the 34pict3 was the cause of the fire so what did i do? i put a big ol' webber in there that holds more fuel :D

ANYONE?

Jeff Geisen Tue Nov 18, 2008 10:14 am

... the degree pulley in the picture above leaked a bit, a stock pulley is in its place and the leak stopped. The alternator pulley pictured is a thick aluminum pulley half with the German original balanced steel back half.

The chrome Taiwan gen/alt pulleys will cause grief. If you really wanna chrome gen/alt pulley, have the German original half that see when the hatch is open chrome plated, IMHO.

Thanks for the info....what do you mean by leaked? That is a good idea to just have the stock ones chromed.

Here's mine before doing some tune-up bits. I relocated my fuel filter out of the engine compartment. I also cleaned up a lot of the overspray #-o )

oh yeah, that ought to weld up just fine.

was there anything left salvageable of the engine after that?
dp

All except the crank was salvaged and used in my 1775 (flywheel, heads, pushrods, tins) and in several friends engines (case, cam & lifters, rods, etc etc) even the case didn't need any line bore

Did you get that tin piece you are missing and seal. Gotta keep the heat out.

panic_fan Tue Nov 18, 2008 12:45 pm

Heres is mine after getting a few missing hoses and relocating the fuel filter....
Anyone see anything else I may be missing?

GermanBay: That is a very slick looking engine you have. I'd love to do that sometime, just in Neptune Blue.

Here's my engine. Not a very good picture, but it's all i have uploaded. And yes i've been working on the shitty PO wiring.

Yeah, I installed my tin and replaced the seal, What a difference the seal makes to keep heat out of the compartment!

Looks good to me, I need that third hose out from the bath filter. What does it do for the engine?
