So the 12 volt armatures are no longer around for quite some time, what are you guys doing out there for wiper conversions.
Will a 67 bug 12volt work?
Or just run the 6 till she goes? |

| You can buy voltage drops at FLAPS to run your 6V wiper motor at 12V. Voltage drops need to be matched in size to the load. I believe my wiper motor draws 1.8amps but you should check for yourself. |

| 67 bug motor will work (two speed) but you have to use the bottom plate and arm from your bus motor and you need to remove the little self-parking peg that protrudes into the gearbox to tell the motor to stop at a certain point. It just slips out. Otherwise, straight across swap. |

| the wiper motors are from 67 to about 70 T1 as long as its the bail type motors (same looking as the bus 6v motor) change out the shaft plate and drill a small hole for clearance of a screwhead done |

I have delayed wipers on my 66 bus.
Delayed = I haven't put the motor back in so I have no wipers. |

I've been driving around with the cover off my converted motor for about a year now so when the WW 12V armature locks up I could spin it by hand & it would work, but ran really hot. Today I took a file to the WW armature & it works great sofar. It seems the shaft of the armature is bent/cocked causing the upper edge to rub. I'll update this once we get a good rain & I'm driving in it for awhile. |
