| I have not been going to that show for that very reason lately. If we are going to try to set a record, I will bring mine. |

I'm up for it--provided my car is running (and that the collie dog event that my family goes to isn't the same weekend...)--which it hasn't been for a couple of years--but we are slowly getting things back on track again this year and will make it a priority...
I may be wrong, but didn't Terryville of 2000 end up *eclipsing by one car* the previous split Bugs record at Norwalk 2000 (see John's picture below)?
Anyone have any Terryville 2000 pictures posted anywhere? |

Wish they had this show when I lived in CT. Thinking August may be a great time to visit family.

Well its hard to imagine winter ever ending but I can one to the mix.

ps. What record was that ,east coast record, US record or world record? Doesn't look like it would be a world record. |

Per Bill Silvestri's article in the February 2001 DKF newsletter, there were 15 split window Beetles mustered at the Connecticut VW Association's "Northeast Classic," held Sunday, June 4, 2000. I would guess it may have been thought to be a *US* record at the time???

I think the Norwalk show was the record for the US.
We could beat the bushes this summer and try to beat it.... I could bring my '51 shell down on a trailer too, would that count??? |

| I was there for the last atempt for a record, I was thinking we had 15 but would have to dig up some info to be sure. Not sure exactly what type of record it was we were trying to set. May have been just a " "Terryvile"record. But seems like we were trying to set a US record. I should be able to get 2 down there maybe one more. Split Beetle shell on trailer should count and will make a great conversation piece, white new beetle Zwitter probably wouldn't count. Six more inches of snow coming tomorrow, when will it ever end. |

Yes Kevin, zwitters count. And since there are so many of them we oughta be able to hit 30  .
Hey 47bug I didn't know you had a two car trailer.
We'll be driving our zwitter down to Terryville. May not make it to Maine show this year.

So lets start a list and see who CAN make it. I understand that some probably wouldn't unless there was some reason to. So copy the list from the post above and add your name.

| David, sorry you won't be at the Maine show, that Zwitter is bitchin, no two car trailer yet, but you never know, I have a friend that will drive my truck and trailer with the trailer queen. I'll follow with the Zwitter, after all, it does have two little windows in back. Anybody know Garth Collins, he had a 46 if memory serves me right. Be good to see again. CS has a 50? last I knew, bring it down and all the parts and we'll put it together for ya. Jim needs to drag down his 47, would be great to see it again. Chuck has one there every year. |
