I have seen a lot of accessories (aka "Flare) on VW's but that Bungee chord is stretching it....doh!

Forgot to bring my camera to the show  and finally got around to getting the pictures off my iPhone.

Ohh yeah....what were they filming???

Does the black one on the end count?? Or rather...what's left of it....

The filming was for a local cable access show.

Looks like Tom Matulis himself being interviewed (standing by his custom sunroof split)--like Chuck, Tom's another *long-time* Northeastern vintage VW personality--and great guy. Great to see Tom's split Bug reactivated too. Thanks thewalrus for posting the additional shots.

Dave H (who I heard trailered his zwitter to the Maine show... so what's up with the axle issues???) had made it we would have broken it.

That was last year when the car was fresh and hadn't been shaken down yet. Last fall we put 700 miles on it and this year we've put 1,000 on it including to Litchfield. It will not be trailered to another show. It's just no fun trailering a car. We're picking it up today. It'll be good to have it back. Will be driving down to Lime Rock next weekend for the Rolex Vintage Festival. see how it does against other types of cars.

It looked like it was made from parts of an American car bumper.
