Drove 3 hours each way from LI to outside Philly for my niece's christening. Probably one of the last chances to comfortably take that ride until next year.
My niece (goddaughter) and nephew checking out the camper:

I guess I should have been more specific. Very good looking alloys. Who makes them, or what type of vehicle were they fitted on before your bus? 14 inch rim or 15 inch?
They are 15" Audi rims from mid eighties quattros. They do require the center bore to be enlarged from ~55mm to 67mm. I sent a pm with more detailed questions/answers. |

Replaced the Jalousie window to a Slider. It is so much quieter and no more cold air coming in. Took me only 10 minutes each side from removing and putting in. :)

I heard your Thing just won a show award here in Phoenix a couple weeks ago. By proxy or absentee or honorary or some other wierd reason. Next time you have a show back there, enter my bug or bus for me. |

Let's see...I've owned it exactly one week.
I've pressure-washed the exterior, cleaned most of the interior, tore out the nasty old carpet, stick-on "parquet" floor tiles, rotten plywood under that and the Old Milwaukee can glued over the hole (sink drain?) in the floor. I've taken a wire wheel to some of the rust on the roof. I got the front hub off and brake freed up. I removed the rear bumper, apron and trailer hitch, disconnected all the engine wiring, fuel line, heater boxes and pulled the engine out...oops, forgot the accelerator cable! Got it undone and the engine is out now. The pressure plate center was laying in the bellhousing and there is oil caked everywhere. I should get it on the engine stand and start tearing it down this weekend. |

| Almost ready to put my 69 Single Cab into service. My body and paint guy has all the inside of the cab painted, and now we are installing the donor treasure chest floor and getting it sealed and painted. All the gates are done, and we welded up all the bed wood slat screw holes up and prepped for paint. Hopefully this weekend he will paint the gates and the white on the roof. Next is to back mask and shoot the rest of it. Trying really hard to have it done for Buses by the Bridge in Lake Havasu, Arizona this coming January. Still need to build a motor for it, rebuild the drive axles, upholster the seats, and put some miles on it before then. I really would like to attend BBB in a Type II as it's been 3 years since I sold my Camper and have been forced to take my 67 Fastback. NOT THIS YEAR !!!!! |

78 Bus. Troubleshot an Air Flow meter and repaired a faulty drivers door key cylinder.
Unfortunately the latter required removing the door panel and service hole cover. |

| So my 73 camper needs rear corners and rocker work. I started on one corner this afternoon. I can't believe how great I feel just cutting out all the rust on one corner! Now Im motivated to keep going and get this needed body work done so I can paint! :) |
