i think you will find that any loose items, including boxes will be taken out of the vehicle and disposed of by US customs.

Get the bus into a container and you can load it up. I send buses loaded to the roof over quite a bit. Never lost anything going through customs.

BTW it's got nothing to do with Customs.. It's your shipper who does not like it because they missed out on charging you more..

I know I have shipped over 20 cars and buses to the UK from all over the world.. I always fill the cars.. 8)

If you shipper comes out with that old bull change shippers..

Also would this also be that when a car or bus is not a runner that they charge you more for a forklift.. say $250 more.. yeah another load of bull I complained to the port ( not the shipper ) for insisting on using a forklift on my 65 911 and they said we don't own a forklift.. we tow the cars on running or not!!!

So they had the shippers ( the crooks to look out for ) had a nice little scam of $250 a time for the last 15 years..

I have also worked in the Docks where I live for a while and know of all the scams...

:?:

I am selling a bus in US and have UK interest.
Has anyone heard of needing to give the buyer Power of Attorney for customs? My interested buyer says that he needs it because the bus will still be technically in my name???
I just want to make sure the funds clear and sign the Certificate of Title over to the buyer. Do I need to supply bill of sale?

No need for that. Once he has the title and a bill of sale it's in his name so to speak.
He'll probably have to provide a power of attorney on his end though.

Can the bill of sale be something I put together and have notorized?
My Cert of Title is addressed for me in Colorado and I am now in Minnesota w/a MN Drivers License. Will this be an issue?

You don't even need to have it notarized. Just written on a piece of paper and signed by you. Same goes for the title. A copy of your license (no matter what state) is what they will need to clear customs.

It's really not as complicated as most people make it out to be.

What is the best way to secure funds that can't be taken away after the bank receives them. I have read that money order or certified checks can be frauds and even after the bank accepts them weeks later can decide they are fake. I do not want to give access to my banking acct info eather. what do you think?

Wire transfer is the safest / best way to go.
There is no info you need to give that anyone you write a check too doesn't get anyway.

Bank account / routing number / bank address

It's not like someone can use the info you supply to sneak in and drain your account.

If you're that worried about it set up an account just for the transfer. Most banks have free account now so it won't cost you anything but some time.

Ditto on Wire Transfer.
