Anyone out there have a source or have a type 4 windshield rubber for my '72 411?

I am pretty sure that the 411/412 uses the same rubber as the Vanagon.

I think that you may be right that the gasket material has about the same cross section as the Vanagon, I would think the T4 gasket would be somewhat shorter though. No big deal to cut a hunk out of it if need be though any preformed corners might not fit well.

I picked up a windshield gasket for a Brazilia in Puebla, Mexico several years ago. I have not used it yet, but it fits my spare windshield to a "T".

Thanks! What year Vanagon and waht year Brasilia? I have good contacts in Mexico. If this is true I can have as many as we all need.

Don't know what years they made the Brazilia, but I think that it was pretty much concurrent with the T4's. I assume that all Vanagon windshield gaskets are interchangeable, but don't know it for sure either. I do think that there are likely two kinds of gasket for the Vanagon, one requiring a lock strip and one without. Whether one is better than the other I do not know.

Sure a lot of "don't knows" in this post. :lol:

does anyone know if the rear window rubber is the same for a 411 4 door as a type 3 fastback?? I despirately need some rear window rubber!! thanks.

I think I have a front rubber laying around. I could sell it, if you needed it. All it is, is a Bay Bus rubber cut down and glued back together.

That's unfortunate, I think it is a small family operation, so I imagine they are overwhelmed from time to time.
