Black knok could bee ok, I have seen it on several -50 verts (unrestored dec -50).
This is what makes this animals so strange, a mix of materials and colours that could vary from one month to another.

Is the frame of the visor black as it appears to be in the Dec 1950 das Auto picture? Very interesting. In the July 1950 pic there also seems to be a 90 degree bent in the edge of the visor. Is that the case with your friends visor? What month was car born?
