| The add gives you a history of the SP2. Whats the question? It was built by VW of Brazil and sold in there market. You occasionaly see them in the U.S. |

Headlights were too low for US standards plus the large bumper laws kicked in. They were intended for importation into the US but that idea was abandoned by VW.
I saw one at BugJam in Tampa '06. I found it strangely attractive because it was ugly as little sense as that may make. |

| There used to be a very nice original unrestored or molested SP2 in the DC area that I've seen in the past. IMHO, I've always liked the Pumas better. |

I used to have one that I sold to a VW enthusiast in Holland. Check the site below for the car's pictures, a bit of SP2 history, and photos of the same car in Holland.
http://home.earthlink.net/~mysp2/
It was on the cover of a Dutch classic car magazine: http://www.amklassiek.nl/ in their March number.
Any questions, feel free to ask. I'll be more than happy to answer any questions about this rare VW sport car.
By the way, I haven't got a chance to include pics of my other SP2s in the site. I'll eventually do so. |

wheels are wolfrace look alike. the rest is bone stock. unfortunately some bad guys did a horrifying bodywork on the body!! normal and fiberglass bondo everywhere, a front crash badly repaired. one headlight support has been wrong welded into the front end!! the same happened to the chassis!! here a little sheetmetal, there a little sheetmetal and again a lot of bondo! this is nooo gooood!!!
donīt you guys know good bodywork? (i mean the ones that "restored" this car!) shame on you!!   |

Congratulations on the job you are doing on the SP2. These cars are not at all easy to renovate. I know that from experience: I have done it three times. I am from Brazil and very familiar with these cars. As a matter of fact I've had three SP2s. One of them is currently in Holland. The other two are in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Check here for their pictures and a bit of history about the SP2: http://home.earthlink.net/~mysp2/.
A friend of mine in Sao Paulo has a warehose full of body and cosmetic parts and other SP2 stuff as well as 15 SP2s ready for restoration. I can put you in touch with him should you need parts for your car.
VW built only around 10,000 SP2s. They have worldwide enthusiasts (more of them outside the US), are becoming rarer and dearer. So, when you are done with your renovation, you'll have a rare valuable car.
All the best in your endeavor. Feel free to write me [email protected] should you have any questions.

| I have two SP2s. One of them (a Yellow) is spotless with Brazilian Black Tags. The other one (an Orange) is not perfect but in good condition. Needs mostly cosmetic work to make it spotless as the Yellow. Check them out at: http://home.earthlink.net/~mysp2/. In thsi site you'll find history, technical information, pictures of the three SP2s I've had as well as links and other info abou the car. |

| hello concisa! really a cool car that you have there displayed on your page. and it looks original, one big advantage! most of them are pimped up with other wheels, bumpers or no bumpers, without trim on the side, etc.. |

| Thanks...the SP2 are indeed cool cars. Unfortunately, I must sell both. If you or anyone you know wants a spotless rare in original condition SP2, consider my Yellow; on the other hand, the Orange SP2 although not as perfect as the Yellow, still would be a nice addition to the VW enthusiast. All the best. |
