I found this online at Home Depot:

It's 126" (10.5'). Maybe paint it then pop rivet it in place and I think it would work pretty good |

| Has anyone come up with any creative ways to install the headliner without removing the windows. I'm not opposed to fabricating something around the upperwindows to help hold it in place. Funds are way to low for me to replace all the seals. I have a new crush vinyl headliner for my 68 sunroof deluxe. |

I had my headliner installed without removing the windows, and they did a good job tucking it in behind the seals. sad part is, i don't know how they did it.
If you want to get a good finish, you can always take out the windows without damaging the seals, i've removed about 2 buses worth of glass and left the seals fully intact. in fact, i find it easier than cutting them out. then stick them back in, no? |

I finished putting in the hardboard headliner I was working on. I have been saving comic books, posters, stickers, photos, concert fliers, etc for the last 10 years and I finally made good use of it. :)

I recently got a PM asking about a pic I posted in the gallery.
Thought I'd post the answer here as it may help others looking for headliner J channel and trim:
"I got them at a Big Box store, Menards in the midwest, but reckon HD and Lowes would have it.
Side trim - It's aluminum J channel. Found it where they have all the trim for alu siding.
Between the panels - plastic H shape, found in the wall covering area.
They worked well. would use the same again."
Thanks to simon66 (headliner) and magnus (felt) for the inspiration.
These pix were taken while on a 2 month road trip, love the extra storage in the new headbanger shelf, great for bulky down, fleece, and sweats:

In my resto, I'm going to try to remove as much of the headliner as possible and keep it minimalist!
Good stuff on here I got a few ideas!
Thanks! |

If you don't mind me asking, how did you mount the J channel? |

Pop rivets, about every 8-9", IIRC.
The leg of the J channel on the other side of the ply, that you don't see, is longer, so drilling and riveting was easy. |

Headliner kit from TMI. Glass was out, making the seams down the B, C, and D pillers was time consuming. I glued down 1/8 inch foam under the vertical parts for a soft cushy feel. Then cut the foam away where the folded seams are. |

| Thank you Desertbusman. I would do it again. I had help from a pro to pull the headliner from the top of the back hatch opening forward to the windsheid. He cut the holes for the lights too. |

That's a fabric and not vinyl? If so that's the first non vinyl I've seen in a Bay. I've done a couple bugs which would be identical in the specific details and how to do it but just less of it. The difference between a pro job and a DIY is usually wrinkles. Yours looks outstanding. The foam also makes a real difference in final quality.
My bug was a Sewfine liner. And a custom solid heavy marine grade vinyl instead of the thin stock perforated liner. Sewfines instructions said "No wrinkles allowed". And it really took a lot of heavy stretching to do it. All the moreso with the compound curvature. Lighter vinyl might have ripped.
Based on how yours looks I'd suspect you would have quite a few takers if you wanted to do more of them. |

| Its some kind of fabric, crushed mohair velour has stretch to it. Lots of pull stretch and glue. I was going to go with vinyl but had seen this in a split and thought it looked good. This bus came headliner only in the cab area. |
