Took my torsion arms into local VW shop for new ball joints. Got them home and discovered that the eccentric on the drivers side was too small for the Thing ball joint. I assumed that someone many years ago, replaced the upper joint with a Beatle joint and eccentric. I got my "Hummer Jr" from my brother-in-law and he'd had it since 1989 and hadn't changed ball joints, so when this happened -- who knows.
Anyhow, I contacted Kmann for help and he sent out the word, but no one had an extra.
Called Chirco in Tucson--no luck. Out of desperation, I call TTS even though neither their catalog nor their website showed them listing eccentric bushings.
Lo and behold, Terri (bless her heart) couldn't find them listed, went out in the warehouse and found a bin with about 20 of in it.
She called the reconditioned (Beatle bushings- bored out?) and they are pricey. $55 plus tax and shipping. It kill me the price of Thing parts but I was delighted to even find one. The heck with the kids inheirtence.
