I have seen a 1967 VOLKSWAGEN Splitscreen Camper for sale on a web site but when I e-mailed the guy he said he had now moved to spain and was finding it tooo expensive to put the u.k van on the road over there so looking to sell.
He has offered to pay all shipping
sounds good right? now the sticky bit he has asked me to make payment to ebay where they will hold the paqyment until i have received the van well here you go read what he put....
You will send the payment to ebay(not to me). Once ebay has the payment, they will inform me and I will ship the camper over to you. You will have 7 days to inspect the vehicle and decide if you wish to keep it or not. Only after you make sure that the camper is really what you have expected, you will have to confirm the sale to ebay and they will release the funds to me. If you will not be satisfied with it, you can return it at my expense for a full refund of your money, no questions asked.
HAS ANYONE HEARD OF THIS BEING A SCAM AND THE VANS BEING UNSAFE ? |

It is a known scam.
I have been seeing ads like this from time to time.
I also knew a girl who was swindled 3600€ by a guy in the UK.
She was told to pay the shipping of the car from the UK to the Canary Islands, and the rest when she receive the car.
The car was very cheap because the seller says that it is unsafe to drive a LHD car in the UK, and he need to sell it abroad, because people don't buy a LHD car in the UK.
The girl was so stupid that she paid 3600€ for the shipping and... never saw the car.
I sometimes emailed people selling cars at the half of its real cost, and always heard similar stories...
So please, DONT BUY!!!! |
