| The '55 Speedster I'm restoring didn't have the original wood floors in it. Since it's going back 100% stock, I got some from Stoddard. Problem is, I have no idea how they are supposed to fit. They seem abit wobbly as they are. Anybody have any good pics showing how they're supposed to look? Thanks. |

| I'm finishing a 55 cuope for a friend-he has the same boards-best I can tell there is a bolt holding the inner edge to the aluminum tunnel cover. I'll try and get some pics tomorrow. |

We have just replaced the floors (and the outer seat mounts) in our 55 coupe. The boards used to sit really badly as the floors were so beaten up, but as soon as the new floors were in, everything fitted right :D
Our boards sit on the tunnel aluminium 'coverplate' ledges, yes there are bolt threads on this, but we have not bothered to attach as the boards sit nice anyway.
At the front the floor boards slot 'into' the footwell front kickboard at the bottom (over the cable on the drivers floor) and at the rear they sit on the front edge of the round front outer seat mounts. Once the carpet is all in, the fit really well and dont move :D
I can only assume they are now correct as our original floor was a bit too patched to compare!
(Forgive the lack of use of technical terminology I am a woman :D ) |

| Stoddards Pre-a parts never fit 100%, specially wood items they always need some refine to fit properly. I am unsure if early speedster floors are the same as pre-a. |

I dont know where our boards are from as they were already in the car, but our floors/seat mounts are from Simonsen, not the US ones.

I was told the pressings/metal thickness is far better? They certainly fitted very well for us and compared to our original floor's pressings everything seemed identical. I have not seen Stoddards metal to compare, but I was advised by an expert to go Simonsen. |
