View original topic: Bosch Platinum Plus 4 - subs?

I discovered Bosch does not list at Platinum+4 fitment for our '79. I have these plugs in all my other vehicles and they are terrific.
Is there a suitable substitute available? My experience with the early Bosch Platunums was abysmal; I have used Nippondenso Hot-U plugs with success (although ND's QC is spotty and I often had to align the anodes).
Of course, there's good ol' NGK.
But what I want is a really superior plug to go with my upcoming Pertronix upgrade...

In my experiences with platinum plugs,do not use them on air cooled VW motors.Go with the stock plugs.

It's a big debate but very few people have problems with Bosch Supers when the engine is working right. Jake Raby states that he puts Bosch Supers in his performance engines so they're overall a great plug.

super bosch W7CC and regular Spark Plugs wires ( nothing fancy) is what i use and it works fine in my BERGMAN engine. If you feel that engine is loosing power change the plugs for new ones.If you buy spark plugs cables, try to get the kind that the spark connector unscrews from the cable so you can cut it to lenght. WESTERN AUTO has them(part # 3049 i think).Good luck.
