Are there any non-perfectionists out there with experience using pop rivets to attach hubcap clips on the wheels for a pre-71? If you do one, do you have to do all 5 to maintain alignment? Thanks.

I used that method on a couple clips that broke off. Seems to work fine so far. Just ensure that the rivet gets real tight before you pinch it off.

Like Mike said the pop rivets work fine. I used them also on my 70 shouldn't have to do all five unless you go to bend them for some extra tension and they break, hopefully not! anthony

Thanks guys.

I was just worrying because I noticed that the heads of the pop rivits are a bit domed, so they are not flush with the inside wheel surface the way that the originals were. So it occurred to me that when the wheel is bolted to the break drum it might not torque down straight, by a few thousandths at the bolt circle.

But given the state of the front end of this bus, I suppose it would be hard to feel it. (Some work left to do!)
