View original topic: Transmission mount bolt torque?

Anyone know what the torque for:
1. The 4 bolts holding the transmission mount to the chassis, AND
2. The nut and long bolt that goes through the rubber mount on said transmission mount.

This is a manual transmission, 91/1, but I assume it's the same for an automatic.

I looked in the Bentley manual, but couldn't find this anywhere. Seems kinda important!

I believe the 4 bolts are 8mm. I would not exceed 20 foot pounds. The support bolt is 10mm and you might torque it to 44 foot pounds.

Yeah, I figured I'd just torque per the bolt size/grade. I didn't see any markings on them, so I assume they are pretty low strength. Just wanted to do it right, as I've seen too many under and overtorqued bolt consequences....

thanks,

Is this correct? only 20 foot pounds for the 4 bolts? Seems light.

Any tips on changing this mount? It seems pretty straight forward and just want to know if there is anything to look out for.
