hello jason..

no, it has no rear opening hatch.. itīs a pre window kombi, they just put a window in, back in the days! :(

the rear where the window is in, fitīs in with screws.. this is why it looks like a rear opening hatch!

As is just about every bus, but this one just has that charm we all love about an oldie.

Hey, I just noticed it's missing the headlights. Is that street legal?
I don't think you should drive it until after you get those replaced,
you wouldn't want to get a ticket, would you?

thanks! :D

the headlights arenīt the only thing missing!

Hi Ben, about the window and hatch in the back, I tought it was because Miesen converted it to an ambulance, no?? or do you think the hatch / window came AFTER his life as an ambulance?? I think the hatch is made back then, in 1951, by Miesen... of course, it left Wolfsburg as a real 10 window bus!! G.

Haha, the rust of that'll buff right out!

So, do you plan on getting a model correct motor, or going the way most seem to? I would think you're planning on a newer engine, like an early (still carburetor-based) bay or the like. You'd get the simplicity, plus more power for hills and the highway.

Or are you going with an early split engine?

Miesen did the hack in the rear and built in the hatch on to a hard wood frame nailed in to the body, I removed the frame, the hatch was long gone already
