My wife and I sold our house in Edmonton in December 2007 and are moving to Nicaragua. We are travelling with our daughters Maia and Naomi, who are 2 yrs and 2 months, respectively. Things are going very well so far and we should be out of Canada, and the cold, by next week.

We bought a 1984 Westy and are really enjoying ourselves so far. We are trying to get to warmer climes as quickly as we can so we can get rid of all of our winter gear and start camping.

Any good spots to stop on the 101?. We should be sliding down the western seaboard soon.

Ahh, the 101. It is a beautiful stretch of road. In Oregon, look into Astoria, Cannon Beach, Tillamook (great cheese and an air museum), The Dunes north of Coos Bay etc. Northern Cali is amazing as well. Bit of a tip, if you are headed between Cannon Beach and Tillamook on the 101 stop at Beaver Creek Bob's in Beaver Oregon. Tons of vintage VW's all over the place. Have fun.
