i still own my 72 sort of. Met the bad side of an accident and was totaled out. Used her to build a twin out of a 71. But i kept her vin and title. My dad does some badass drawings of vehicles in his spare time. so he drew up one for Memory of and we put the title and vin plate in the frame. I also killed one due to guy sold me without a title and couldnt street it, so it met the parts bin after a good strip.
Thats 3 more |

I keep mine in my garage. She is a '71. Just got her running a couple of days ago. She was last titled and left inop 13 years ago. Good thing I had the opportunity to give her a home. Out of the mud and in the garage. As soon as I can trust her she will be driven every day!

Don't tell me you're stripping the mobilerun paint scheme off there! That was the coolest early fasty every. I wanted that car bad when it was for sale a few years ago, I just didn't have the money.

| My wife's 70 Clementine Orange Fastback has been in our family since July 4th,1989. I repainted it (in the original color) in 1990, and redid the interior back in 1991. It's been daily driven during the summer months since that time. In 1995, it took an award for best t-3 at the Michigan Vintage VW festival (the last year they handed out awards). Before the 2008 T-3 Invasion, it'll get a color tune up, and the FI re-installed (it's been carbed the entire time we've had it), before it attends the Invasion. |

I'll put it back! Geez.
I started removing the lettering along the roof because it was crude. I wanted to get rid of that and "Penny a mile" on the trunk lid. I think I should have left the red line and the cities on the doors. My son asks me everytime I talk to him if I have "put the lettering back on yet".
I really shouldn't have gotten carried away with the removal. It's just that my first trade I took up was lettering. I spent almost 14 years doing that and just didn't appreciate masked lettering being that I mastered hand lettering so long ago.
I have the bumpers back on now though:) It helps.
BTW that's two Fastbacks that you care about  |
