got the boost set up today at 7lbs....runs like a scalded dog!!
im lovin it, only thing i need now is a more agressive clutch, it slips really bad shiftin through the gears, as the boost does not drop during gear changes so when im shiftin it slips really bad....n its all kennedy stage 1.
so next upgrade is clutch i guess.... 8) |

shit yeah.... the more you drop the compression ratio the better those boost number *feel*.... some folks prefer lower compression and higher boost numbers even if they net them less power than a decent compression and lower boost... if it feels like a Tomos moped off boost 20 psi is bound to feel good... |

That's the way I like it, anyway.
Turbo engines don't have to be dogs off boost, but the lower compression sure does make the turbo feel like it 'hits' harder once boost does build. |

LOL...i agree, it does feel better...(that post wasn't meant as a diss to you mini, yours is just the post i tagged onto..)... my preference is to build a nice, yet mild, efficient engine, then turbo it... obviously if you build a high strung engine, as if to squeeze all possible HP out N/A, you won't be able to do much more with the forced induction... |

| i agree with buginva...the 1835 was a mild street motor n i decided to boost it. and its not a dog when theres no boost. but when the boost does build it feels realllll nice  |

| over the weekend i tore off the rear apron, yanked the motor and installed a kennedy stage 2 pressure plate and 4 puck disk...solid rear mount, tranny input shaft seal, and rigged up the rear apron to be zeus fatsened for quick removal of engine. (trust me its worth it! and saves alot of time!) :D finally, i installed a tach, and my wideband......FINALLY she works and no more clutch slippage. all she needs now is a nice wash, detail, and the empi glass decklid and hood installed \:D/ |

alright time for an update.....
i now have the boost set at 10lbs and im running 110 octane....i took it to the local 1/8 mile last weekend and only got a 9.20 @ 78mph...spinning 1st gear. i believe it should be faster?? im not sure....but my next step is to turn up the boost to about 12-15 lbs. ive been reading up and they say the motor will take 15lbs im just not sure for how long. :?:
but needless to say i am VERY happy with the performance of the car and it runs beautifully! at the strip i managed to beat a chevy duramax diesel, scion TC and an infiniti g35 8) |

nice man, that aint bad at all for a 1776 thats naturally aspariated lol.
i turned to marty staggs for info. and he told me to run more timing to wake it up, im only running 18* rght now...he suggested i run 20-22*...so as soon as i get the chance ill turn it up and see what she does  |

You might be surprized by the results....
If you like more timing, maybe you should look into putting programmable crank fired ignition on your engine. I have Megajolt on my turbo Corvair, and it's great! It will allow you to run vacuum advance, boost retard, and cranking retard-you'll never find all those features in any distributor for $89!

if you aren't driving it well(for whatever reason), just look at the trap for power...
my n/a 1915 only traps 69 in the 1/8th. 78 is moving... |

yeah i was runnin street tires and launchin at like 4,500rpm. if i launch any lower it bogs because i got a 4 puck clutch with a 2100lb pressure plate haha. so 1st gear was no traction. but when shes movin shes movin...im gonna turn up the timing this week and try to take it to the track this weekend n see how well she does with more timing and more boost. |
