For anyone interested in shocks. I just bought four German made Boge shocks "Super Tourers" from bus depot and they made a giant difference. Far better handling and smoother ride than the white KYBs that were on there before.

| I have a set and I agree they are better than the KYB but for $80ea you might as well get the KONIs at $110, you will never have to buy them again and the KONI's are adjustable from soft to firm so you can see what works best for you and you Bus :0) |

| I looked for Bilstein & Koni but could only find front koni for my 70 bus. Looks like those companies are stopping or cutting back production for old VW type 2s. Bus depot has front but has a long wait list for the rear Koni. Thats why I went with the German made Boge. Please post any place you know where you can find Bilstein & Koni still in stock. Thanks --Mike |

| Update: Six months after I bought Bus Depots high-end German made Boges I pulled off the rears because they felt like cr#p, and discovered they were blown out, no resistance at all. So I put back on the white KYBs gas-adjust in rear and left the Boges on front. Handles way better again. I guess those pricey German Boges couldn't take the weight of my westy interior for very long. Waste of cash. Oh well live-n-lean. |

| GR-2's up front, Gas-A-Just out back. GR-2's made a huge difference. i know you folks are really into your Boge & Koni's, but for the money this is the best set up. a little stiff in the rear. but, aren't we all? 5+ years on both sets and i won't be changing them any time soon. |

when I read this post I could not even believe you liked Boge's over KYB's.. Boge's were crap 30 years ago and still are .. Monroes are better. Both those are good for about 3 to 4 months..
For the price you can't beat KYB's ,, but the white KYB's work there best under a load, which is what they are designed for..hence self adjusting .. so if your not hualing something heavy they may seem like a rough ride.. Time tells the story, by that I'am saying 5 years down the road KYB's are still doing the job.. |

Thanks for the update. I've been debating what shocks I want to put on my bus. I think I'm going with 4 KYB GR-2's. |
