I've just found this strange alternator with some kind of special nut.

What does it fit?

What are the markings on the Gen, what is the date code?

Looks like a D reg.

The backing plate and pulley look wartime. The generator should be date coded.

I need any C code generator from 1 to 11 C

Interesting that according to 1952 Bosch parts book RED 90/6/2200 AL 15 was used untill end 1947 and VW parts books from 1945 and 46 already have RED(K?) 130/6/2600 AL 15 listed.

I have posted a few fotos of a BOSCH KdF D-regulator in the gallery. It is different than the one on the generator pictured here in the post. By the way: the "roof" of a KdF-voltage regulator is D-style but on the top totally even, not grooved like the post 45/46 ones. Very difficult to find. On the regulator "foot" is says: II u. III RS/6K130/6/1Z, on the other foot there is the BOSCH logo (spool) stamped in.
The generator pictured here seems indeed to be KdF, at least what we can see: the backing plate, the flat belt discs with their small nut but the regulator on it as far as I can see is later, normal split style.

Thanks for a great reply!
And yes Øystein, this one will come up for sale in a month or so.

Don't mean to jack your thread but do you have anymore pictures of the split with the rollback roof?

Looks grey in the first pic, same color as the gen backing plate.

Interesting too, those KDF intakes are not the same shape as the later "K"s..

What is the date code of that reg? I have one and it is with regular D-cover with the cross on top. Can not recall the date code but if it would be pre45 I would. I think this is the police, military or what ever radio version as it has a resistor inside. Goes possibly together with VER4BRS383.

Edit....it´s close to KDF anyways. But may have continued with the radio applications.
