I know I have had some of yall help me with adjustable front end questions and I thank all of you. Now I have an adjustable front beam on my 74 Transporter, it is not lowered all the way but it rides like shiznit 1/4" away from the front snubbers. A suggestion from some has been to cut off the snubber mount off the beam completely. I know this will cause the tires to hit the wheel wells. Cut it off or no?
Any and all suggestions welcome!!
Thanks
Chris

My 74 westy has an adjustable front beam-it's one step up from bein' slammed.
Had to cut off the snubber mounts just to drive it but the tires don't hit and I'm no featherweight. Good luck |

| The best way to lower the front of a bay-window is to install dropped spindles. You don't loose the ride quality & it will handle much better. Good Luck & Have Fun... ManxManiac |

Im using kyb's all around and yep The rear end is dropped also.I used Bus Boys adjustable spring plates. When I went to give it a 4wheel alignment I was amazed that the rear end on a bus has alot of room for adjustment.

I agree, dropped spindles would be the ticket although the ones I've seen advertised actually increase the width of the front track-not always good if your allready taking up a lot of wheelwell with wider rims. |

| Get rid of the KYB`s. They are way to stiff for any VW made. Just use some stock oil shocks. If you don`t want to cut off the stops than cut and turn them up a little then reweld them. |

i have thought about rewelding the stops higher but i don't think it will hold if i hit a bump. i already have the adjustable front beam already installed...
how much does it bend the wheel wells when it bottoms out. I have kyb gas adjust up front- too stiff.
