I have a 1989 Vanagon GL with 2.1 75,000 miles. Van runs great but lately when I am driving anywhere between 40 and 65 MPH and let off gas it will just die. While still rolling I put it in netrual re start and keep moving. Doesent die at acceleration or while keeping constant speeds. And it dosent do it all the time. Any sugestions would be great. Thanks,Dave

Check that your throttle position switch is properly adjusted. If you let off the throttle and the system doesn't realize it, I believe this can happen

I think it may be two fold, the Throttle Switch may not be actuating, and your mechanical idle may be too low as well. So when you let off on the throttle it goes below the idle point and dies without the idle stabilizer never engages.
