Hi,
I just got a 73 VW bus with a type 4 engine, it runs now but we want to take it on a long road trip so we want to get a new / rebuilt engine in it.
I understand we can go from type 4 to a 2.0 and that’s fine.. Would be nice to fined a good place in San Diego CA that has engines or can rebuild.
So if you know of a good place in SD please post a replay with info..
Thanks

Cheap to ship them also.
My suggestion would be here http://www.bostonengine.com/ and have a local guy (or you) install it.
Get those dual carbs rebuilt and the gas tank re-sealed while you are waiting. |

| Adrian @ Headflow masters just rebuilt my 2 liter. Ive only put about 10 miles on the engine but it runs good and strong. Im still fighting some fuel injection problems. But so far the longblock seems to be very well put together and sounds real solid. |

| You will be happy with going to Adrian. He also assisted me with my motor and heads although I have a Type 1 motor. Very nice guy and easy to work with. |

| I'll throw in another vote on Adrian. You made a good choice and you will get a quality engine, I am an engine builder myself and still refer people to Adrian. |

This is a long over d testimonial to the work that Adrian of Headflow masters in Vista CA has done for me and my 73 Bus.
It had a 1700CC type 4 in it and Adrian took it up to a 2L. I came by his shop and was hoping to test fire it before I took it and installed it.
Adrian was wonderful and helped me bolt back on the needed parts to get her running and what do you know she stated right up ran like a champ and still dose.
I must say if you want honest rebuild and a fair price one you can trust give them a call.
