Looking for a full exhaust, stock or custom for my 73 412.

Also looking for whatever parts may cause fuel to leak if more than 5 gallons is put in the tank....not sure about that problem. I'm in iraq, car is not.

lastly, trying to fit 16x7 et35 4x100 BBS RS's w/ 205/40's on the car....how can this be done? Is it easy to take the drums/rotors off and have them redrilled? :?:

Thanks.

The exhaust for a 72-75 Bus will work fine.

If it's leaking fuel, it is probably the vent line on the tank, or maybe the fill line. Check your gas cap as well, as the gasket goes bad. The cap is the same as Super Beetles use so it is available.

Most of the engine stuff is interchangeable with T4 powered Bay buses. The automatic transmission with buses and T3's, other parts with Super Beetles and Porsches, and CV's with the Things. Many suspension parts and the 4speed trannys have no other applications though.

Yeah it is easy to take the rotors off the front don't know about the rears yet. but I am debating on drilling for the 4x100 pattern. Also in a previous post I read that the 4x 100 can be stonger than stock because it would be drilled right through the ribs in the back of the rotors.

Can we get a pic of the wheels?

On another note are you in the military?

yes, in the military. I'm a 10th Mountain (light infantry) medic. On R&R for a few more days then back over for about 8 months.

The wheels are Konig "Remember", which are identical (except 1 pc) to the BBS RS301.

I just purchased a new "factory" muffler and tail pipe for my 73 412 wagon.

You have to use a few different sites, but it wasn't too bad.

muffler & muffler gaskets - www.egermanparts.com

tailpipe + tailpipe mounting kit - www.bughaus.com

The muffler came with (6) 8mm studs. I had to cut one shorter when mounting.

I purchased (6) 8mm copper nuts/washers from a local hardward store.

Not sure if the heat exchangers are available "new". Bughaus.com has them listed, but you cannot order, same for their mufflers.
