Hey Dynosaur,
For some reason I got an alert to this post in my email. :D
A friend of mine (we're in South Africa) have seen the 007 code on two '59 Deluxe buses, and two '67 ambulances - on of which is mine.
This is the first time we've heard of this code outside of South Africa. :o
Can you identify anything on your car that most '53 bugs don't/wouldn't have?
Thanks, Nic |

If it helps the Birth Certificate for my RHD Sept '53 VW Motors Ltd London-delivered car also states that it has M 007 , M 008, M 010 AND M 108 that cannot be identified........
By the way, is your '53 black with a roof-mounted spot light and fabric upholstery?
I saw such a car at the Volksworld show car park a few weeks ago and went to have a nose to see what a '53-only speedo looked like  , it was very nice.....................
 |

OK, just been enlightened by Everett. I wasn't aware that bug and bus M-codes differed.
At any rate, Everett has added '7' to the bug M-code list. :)

If anyone has any additions/corrections to the Type 1 M-code list, please email them to me so I can add them.

Might be things such as different color tail tight lenses, different pattern headlight glasses, shamrocks in the glass, etc...
Some of those things might have been changed out over the years too, making it more difficult to tell what they were.
