Watching a little bit of a spy film this morning on the TV called Assignment K that was filmed in 1968.

LOTS of VW's in every outdoors shot!

Don't you see the VW's reflection in the window of that building? :P

It's a custom-built prop on a VW pan.

Anyone spot the buried post 68 red bug shell in The 100 a few episodes back? Just sitting out in the desert, supposedly at least 100 years from when the last one was made.

Actually, decent amount of footage of the old VW driving; and since Janet Leigh (her character, wife of Tony Curtis then) truly owned a VW, it would've been near new, and it was new-appearing in the film (someone had a nice restore).

In that picture it looks one color, in this one:

It looks another. I was wondering if anyone could identify the color of the second. I think the first picture, might be white or offwhite in a flat, so it didn't reflect the camera. I just saw that movie a couple weeks ago, and been wondering since, because it reminds me of the GM color pewter.

Maybe Diamond Grey?

Funny scene, but reinforcing the myth.

Elliott Gould as Phillip Marlowe Private Eye

A lot of Vdubs in this. Ferrari Daytona Spider pulling out, in front of a Panel, that has custom windows.

Surprised no one's mentioned the hollowed out shell atop the War Rig in the new Mad Max movie, used as a gun turret

If you want to see a lot of vw's, watch re-runs or get the Chip's television program dvd's. I have seasons 1,2 and 3 and you see when vw's ruled in California and all over the U.S
