we saw the commercial for the american version and were both skeptical.
lets just hope its an epic fail and only a few abortio... i mean episodes are made...
Yeah, same here. My wife (also not a car person) love the UK version of the show, and can't believe some of the stuff they do on it.
I personally don't think the US version will make it though. Hopefully the BBC will keep the original going, as that's my monday evening entertainment. 8) |

From the previews I have seen, it looks like a couple teenagers, with stolen cars.

Well, I'll have to watch the new one back to back with Clarkson and Company's "USA Muscle Car road trip" to see which one is better.
The Aussie Top Gear tanked, but I'll try to keep an open mind.
Britain's oldest adolescent is a pretty hard act to match. That combination of intelligence, knowledge, and wit is something that the BBC can serve up easily, but American pretty-boy presenters have a tough time matching. |

| Sucked. It had pretty much all been done before, but that's not why the show won't last a full season. Problem is that The Stig has loads more personality than the three hosts together. Tanner Foust was actually a decent pick because he has experience hosting car shows and he really can drive, but he lacks the swagger of Clarkson. They tried too hard. |

| agreed it was pretty bad overall. they tried too hard and didnt do anything new. i will always love the UK version. i can atleast say i gave it a chance but will not make it a regular show to watch. what i dont get is why the history channel has this as a show when they didnt even mention one thing about any history. i think the oldest car they mentioned was an early dodge viper or maybe an early lambo tractor. that was about all the history i got out of it. i guess it just didnt make sense for this show to be put on a channel that is dedicated to history. pawn stars and pickers have some history content so i can see them having something to do with the channel but this is just funny to me. either way the show sucked and thats my opinion. |

Because history was like "Shit we ran out of history to talk about, lets just have random programming."
But the show. I thought it had potential, the guys seemed uncomfortable, Tanner Foust was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy to serious. Well they all were, but especially him. The fat guy had some personality and I can see Adam ending up as the American's jeremey clarkson. He has that reckless idiocy. |

It sucked, as expected.
Can't understand why the Brits would allow
a poor copy of their show to air on American TV.
Also noticed Mercedes Benz was a major sponsor.
Imagaine that!
It's the BBC version for me. |

I didn't like how they tried to make it EXACTLY like the BBC version. They even call their driver "the Stig" and dress him the same. The helicopter chase has been done on the BBC version. It's like they assume we've never seen the other one...like we don't have cable. Oh wait, it airs on cable.
Stupid...
Other than watching my man-crush, Tanner Foust, tear the shit out of anything with a tread pattern, it pretty much stunk. I got a chance to meet Tanner at a drift competition held at Evergreen raceway on the coast. He's an all around professional. |

Watch the episode again and wait for the credits. They didn't crush it, Tim wouldn't let them.
