Hey all.. I am going to post this here as it concerns my '55 3-Fold.. but perhaps there might be a better forum to post it in.... (accessories?)
anyway.. I have a Genuine Abarth Exhaust I recently acquired and I am trying to fit it to my 36hp engine. I wanted to see if anyone else out there has installed a real Abarth before. In my limited 2 day experience it would seem that I will need to trim the j-tubes on the heater boxes as they appear to be just too long. Has anybody run into this same problem?
I know the MR. WOB exhaust just slips on and the old Flat 4 ones were a nightmare and required 8 zillion mods and cuts to make them work. This is is not either.. and has been conformed as a real Abarth.
Would appreciate any feedback you might all have.. Thanks! |

| Why would you have to cut the J tube? Would it not simply slide further in to the lower muffler tube if it's a bit long? On a stock muffler, the head flange and the J tube connecting pipe ends are nearly parallel. How do your ends compare? Maybe a picture would help. |

| I've owned the same 4-tip Abarth since '96. I currently have it installed on my '54 sunroof. Same exhaust has also been on my former '55 & my '56 vert. Being so dang expensive, I always end up selling the cars, but I've always kept the exhaust. Having had it on 3 different 36hp motors, it was always the same fitament. I've never had to trim or alter to get it to mount properly. |
