Thanks to Stan driving his 51 Oval...When my 67 broke down going to the Campbelltown, PA show last weekend he pulled over and lent a hand and got us back on the road. We got to the show, got a few parts and made it home in one piece.

One more reason why I love my VW...the cars are works of art and the people that drive them are one big community always ready to help each other. Thanks Samba...Thanks Stan.

Stan my not have cut out the bar, it may have been done back in the 50's when the new "enlarged" window was introduced and it was not uncommon to update the old split window to an oval. Instructions were even printed on how to do such a task.
That split bar may have been missing for over 50 years.

NO, NO. It was me. I have the 51 Standard Split. The one on the Left.

The bar was not cut out. He just didn't see it.

I stopped to help him near Campbeltown. Twice.

I was glad to help out a fellow air cooled.

My bad. I don't know what I was thinking. I'm not as lucky as you guys to have those early beauties. Where's the love, give a guy a break...you early guys are tough!!! LOL.
