I was talking with a guy at the Englishtown Nj Show and he mentioned a guy who sells dune buggy stuff in PA. I think he was some where in central PA. I'm looking for a Manx style roll bar.
The guy I spoke to at the show was building an orange dunebuggy with a berrien chassis.

talk to Misty,
the name of their shop is Valley VWs. It is near Wilkes Barre Pa.
#570 788 0930.
Tell her Bart from dunebuggyarchives.com sent you ! I was there about two weeks ago to buy a front buggy bumper. They seem well stocked. Bring cash and you should get a discount.

I was looking at this site, do you guys know if they build and weld up roll cages there? Otherwise I'll try calling them tomm, thanks

yep. they do full restoration work. everything. i called them and talked to the owner a couple of times when i first got my buggy about having them restore it. after 3 months of talking i gave up on them though. always putting it off. went local instead.

I got a local quote to a shorten my pan and they were able to do it for 1/3 of the price. I was happy with the work. It was well worth the drive. They are in the process of designing an building there own square tube chassis.

I ordered a roll bar (show bar) last week and it's at powder coating right now. Misty was nice to deal with and helped me out. The price of metal just went up so I have to pay a little extra, around $150 total. I'll be heading that way next week from Jersey. I'll tell you guys how it turned out. If anyone needs anything I'm leaving from Short Hills, NJ (07078). I have a truck.

The roll bar that you got from Misty does it mount to the pan or just the fiberglass body? Could you tell me the dimensions? How wide is it and how tall>

VWSTORECHICK Sun May 20, 2012 7:41 pm

The show bars are mounted at the lip of the body where it mounts to the floor.

The bar itself does not require a weld in installation they are simple a foot with a slip in tube. You drill a whole for a bolt to bolt through the bar.

As far as dimensions. We build all our bars in house so when you call me to order a bar I ask you for the dimensions across the bottom and the dimension across where your body mounts and how tall you would like it. Standard height is 40" but unless you want something alot taller your not looking at a price difference.

Current price for a show bar is $80 + powder coating if you would like. Typically the Bengel Silver we use is $80.
80% Gloss Black is currently $60.
However we can do any color. We've done red, blue, green, etc.

Candy Coating is available in certain colors and prices do vary.

I hope this answers some questions in regards to this post.

Any picture of these roll bars? Sounds like a nice option.

What diameter tubing do you use as well?

VWSTORECHICK Mon May 21, 2012 6:20 am

The tubing diameter is 2 1/4"
The tubing thickness is .120" wall
Tubing is Mild Steel.

I do have a picture. Sorry this isn't of one all fancy it's just the basic bar itself. I happen to take a pic of one a while back and this is what was in my phone.

If someone knows how to list pictures into the form it would be a great help. (Sorry to sound stupid here. I just can't figure it out I've never used it.)

Let me know and I'll repost the picture tonight for you or you can email me over and I can send the link to you. Our email is [email protected]

Thank You,
Misty
