What are some things you tell people when they ask why you like little crappy vw's.

I have gotten into a mess with people because they like hondas and i say vw's are better (faster).

I have ran out of reasons to say why i like vw's so much.

I want to hear your guys catch fraises.

I don't worry about anyone else's opinion. I don't feel the need to justify my vehicle(s) to anyone. Someday you'll grow up and start living for yourself and not by other people's opinions. Honestly, who cares what some jerk off with a Honda thinks of your ride? (No offense Glenn :twisted: ) They just don't get it, and most of them never will. The smile on your face when you hear that air cooled engine roar to life should be all the reason you need.

i was having trouble with some wiring on my coil falling off one time and i was parked in a parking lot putting new ends on and some guy walked up and asked if i needed help re-winding my rubber band. :roll:

I hate the attitude of mostly the Chevy crowd when I show up at a local "all car" show. They think anything not made in the good old USA or by Chevy, is worthy of any un-American insult they can come up with. :roll: ASSHOLES!!!

I don't care what people thing about my cars, but some comments get old.

"you're a nazi if you drive a volkswagen" (this one pisses me off the most"

I'm bracing myself for this summer, when I start daily driving my bug or bus. Again, anyone who doesn't like my stuff can go fuck themselves, but it gets irritating.

If they owned anything German, they would understand how amazingly engineered a lot of German stuff is. I'm still amazed at how everything has a purpose on my bug, very well thought out and executed. Old American cars are sturdy and very cool but the simplicity and engineering comes up short of the German's.

I usually get respect and props from most people, but i do have the occasional "Parts are so cheap for those things", and the "Buy a nice new car instead of that old little bug". If only they knew.

I've only driven my car very short distances. I went to the post office and on the way in a guy asked "what are the horns for?". I replied, "For rustling cattle". He laughed and then I had to listen to one of the 'I had a Porsche engine in a VW once' stories.

I generally dislike people and would not respond to their .02 about what I drive. Especially if it was negative.

If it bothers you when people say things about your VW, maybe VWs aren't for you. Thicken up the skin, people.

I don't care if someone in a Ford or Toyota doesn't like my VW but when someone gives me a nazi salute for driving a VW I think that’s a little over the line and very, very ignorant of them!!

I assume you are comparing Honda's to Vintage VW's, because water-cooled VW's are complete shit. Honda's, in general are far superior to VW's. I'm sorry to break the news to you, they just are. They're more reliable, easier to pull horsepower out of, more comfortable and more reliable. They are also more reliable. VW's (as well as many vintage cars) have charm and soul. We drive them because they are beautiful. If you're driving them solely because you want a fast car...you are a retard. I can build a V-8 Vega for a third of the cost of a VW motor that could possibly keep up with it. I like VW's because of the way they look, period. If somebody gives me shit about it, I tell them they're right and ask them if they know of any sitting around that I can dispose of.
