is it easy to pull out the wiring loom that runs through the roof and is it easy to put it back through again, also did volkswagen have sponge sound proofing where the wiring comes into the engine bay?

I couldn't figure it out. I was just looking last night and saved this. Let me know what happens. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=265600&highlight=wires+roof Thats just one of the threads on it. They also use the electricians fish tape to get it through.

Take a rope and tape it really good at the front of the loom. Stand at the rear of the car and pull the old lume through the back and out. Then tape the new one to the rope really good and pull it back through the car. Pretty simple. Lube it up with some dish soap to help it move through. As far as the insulation in the rear they used this football looking pillows as far as I know.

In all actuality, installing a new loom was a very simple process for me. It was my first time and my 54 was gentle with me. I have no regrets.
