My friend is interesting in picking up a Thing. These 2 look interesting to him.

Which one is a better buy?

Thanks.

Oh no! Santa is selling his "sleigh"?

I'd go for that one just so you can tell people that you bought it from Santa Claus.

It depends on which one looks better in person. They both have had work done to them.

I'd go for the 73'. It's cleaner and somewhat babied.
Santa's 74' is beat up a bit , some rust, and neglected.

Santa loves his other Girl.... The 73'

I agree with Van-Go. One thing about the '73 is there is no mention of top or its condition. Seeing both in person would be better if possible.

I'd go for the 73 and get the heater working so I could drive year round when it gets colder.

I agree with oasis, nolimdon and Van-go. I looked at both and would personaly go for the '73. Oasis, you didn't read enough Quote: One thing about the '73 is there is no mention of top or its condition .
The ad says : Quote: new top . So that's a plus. But there's bad things too like : heater, speedometer and gas gauge not working, + Quote: side curtains are complete but need to be cleaned up , read : need to be changed... And personaly, I don't like the "custom" bumpers, the plain square metal stuff is just not enough custom to me. But that can be changed easily as the beetle mufflers that both Things have. Anyway, neither of them seems horrible. Like Van-go said, the '73 is cleaner... Now it's up to you to chose...

Spooked me. Then again, I'm one who would rather pay the premium up front not to have it that way. There are others who will be able to do wonders with a car like that so there's no right or wrong answer. Cars like that tend to have owners more willing to haggle, too. It's your call but you won't have me to fight over it.

id stay away just because of the wheels..

that white 73 looks liek the best of them..

or if you have a bit more to spend.. this one I know is clean...

I'd stay away too of the orange one. Not because of the rust : it's surface rust due to minor scratches, dents. But because it seems to be neglected. The owner wanted to show off but with arguable taste (wheels, side mirror  ). That doesn't help to be confident with the rest of the car's condition. I would try to find something more well taken care of. $4900 for that orange one seems a bit high compared to the 2 whites. Just my opinion though, you'll decide in the end.

It looks like the 73 might be a good one.

Is there anyone in the Marietta/Atlanta area that could check it out and give an honest opinion of it?

Give me a PM.
