Hello,

I am proud to say that I have gotten the Oval I have been after for a long time, at a great price as well. It needs ALOT of work, but at least its mine now. It has semaphores and KM odometer and is all original. I Also have a '63 rag top that is a daily driver (finally) and a another '63 that is a daily driver (dont wanna wear out the rag lol). So I took the '56 body off the pan or what is left of the pan, and while looking for a place to put it I got to thinking. Why not put the 56 body on the 63 pan and roll it in all is OG glory while repairing the OG pan. I converted the '63 to 12 volt.

Will this work? Im thinking the only thing I need to do is bolt the 56 body on change the bulbs and reduce for the wipers. Any other Ideas.

Thanks
Rich

Of course it'll work, coachbuilders have been doing this procedure since the early 50s. Have fun with your Oval

I have done that. It is a good way to have fun with the car while being able to work on the original pan.

Post pics of the Car.

Good luck with the project.

So whith this going on a '63 pan is there any body or mount modifications I should worry about? Is my assumption with the 12 volt conversion correct?

If that '63 pan has a full syncro trans, you will need a little clearance in the package tray area, where the trans hits,Just take a mallet, and lightly beat it.Sorry i don't have pictures, but a search might turn up something.
