| i know they can exist on a car but did it come from the factory that way? :?: . was told that in the europe you could add over riders to your car just wondering if its true. |

HI,
What year are you talking about and what kind of overrider? Just the little vertical pieces attached to the bumper which began to be offered on 10/1/52 or the towel bar USA style overriders offered beginning in April, 1955 ?
The European standard bumpers and over riders were painted and not chrome.

Canadian cars were set up this way as an option starting in 1954. It was an M code and referred to as "ram protection". This is a friends former car and original to VW Canada from Germany with semi's and over riders. He had a birth certificate to prove it.
